It’s time to start thinking and planning where to head off to and explore during 2022, especially with the recent rise in popularity of camping and touring holidays, otherwise everywhere will be booked up before you know it.
Nothing beats having a holiday planned to look forward to and then you can start deciding what attractions and places you’re going to visit first. Whether holidaying with the family, friends or by yourself, holiday memories can be some of the best. With the whole of the UK and Europe to choose from, the world is your oyster. To help inspire you for your 2022 getaways, either for a staycation or a trip abroad, take a look at some of our top choices of campsites, touring parks and holiday parks below…
Meadow Lakes Holiday Park

Cornwall – Meadow Lakes Holiday Park, St Austell
Set within 56 acres of picturesque meadows, woodlands and lakes, Meadow Lakes Holiday Park is an award-winning, family-run holiday park in St Austell, Cornwall. The campsite provides a stunning, peaceful park with beautiful views at every turn, and what makes this place so special is the owners’ philosophy to spend more time together, taking a slower pace of life, and enjoying the outdoors. There are some wonderful facilities on site including four fishing lakes, free to use during your stay, and Meadow Lakes is also in an excellent location, putting so many fantastic destinations within easy reach.

Devon – Mill Park, Berrynarbor
A sheltered touring caravan and camping site set in an attractive wooded valley on the north Devon Coast. Mill Park has a shop, games room, laundry, and many other useful facilities such as gas changing and ice pack freezing. There is also an on-site pub. It is surrounded by attractive woodland and is an ideal family campsite, being just a short walk to quiet beaches. Equally near at hand is the unspoilt and breathtaking beauty of Exmoor. The nearest village, Berrynarbor, is just a five-minute walk from Mill Park. There is a quaint old country pub, village stores and post office.

Devon – Whitehill Country Park, Paignton
Nestled in the rolling south Devon hills, yet close to the spectacular coastline of the English Riviera, family-run Whitehill Country Park is the perfect spot for a relaxing staycation in the great outdoors. This dog-friendly campsite offers touring, camping and glamping, as well as a range of luxury caravans and lodges. Everything you need is close to hand, including an on-site bar, restaurant, takeaway, shop, woodland trails, craft room, playgrounds and more! As well as the stunning indoor pool, Whitehill Country Park will be opening an all-new indoor pool in 2022!

Dorset – Harrow Wood Farm Caravan Park, Christchurch
Harrow Wood Farm Caravan Park is set in 80 acres of farmland on the edge of the New Forest just inside the New Forest National Park. It has sixty pitches with hardstanding and electric hook-up and some grass pitches for camping. This small family park is in the village of Bransgore from which you can explore the ancient and unspoilt New Forest and surrounding areas. The park is situated just five miles from Christchurch and two miles from the open forest. There is an onsite coarse fishing lake for your relaxation and a one-mile circular farm walk to enjoy the animals and surroundings. It makes an ideal base for camping and caravanning in the New Forest National Park.
Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park

Somerset – Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park, Bishop Sutton
You can feel comfortable on this manicured, garden-style campsite in any season. It is a uniquely peaceful adults-only campsite, widely known for its festive lighting from November through to New Year. It is also central to visit Christmas festivities around Bath, Bristol and Wells. 45 hardstanding pitches (all with 16A electric), undercover facilities and warm, hotel style facilities, justify Bath Chew Valley’s five-star grading. There’s a convenient dog walk on site and a popular, dog-friendly village inn within a few moments’ stroll. Walk to Chew Valley Lake for lovely views, wildlife watching, cosy tea rooms and a fish restaurant. Bath Chew Valley’s staff are friendly and helpful. Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site.
Hurley Riverside Park

Berkshire – Hurley Riverside Park, Hurley
A family-friendly campsite sitting alongside the River Thames in the picturesque village of Hurley between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow. With direct access to the River Thames and the Thames Path, Hurley Riverside Park is perfect for boaters and walkers alike. The family-run campsite first opened in 1926 and is a fantastic base for visiting Henley, Windsor, Oxford and London; plus, it’s only 11 miles to Legoland Windsor for family days out!
Lee Valley Caravan Park

Hertfordshire – Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir
Situated on a tranquil bend in the River Lee, this spacious campsite is surrounded by picturesque countryside with lots of opportunities to wind down and relax. Miles of cycling and walking routes, excellent fishing, wildlife watching, a 1,000 acre country park and a riverside pub are right on your doorstep. The site is laid out to give plenty of space around your tent, caravan or motorhome and there’s a range of camping pods and safari tents available. With modern shower facilities, a shop and attractive landscaping, the site makes a perfect base for your short break. Broxbourne train station, which takes you to London Liverpool Street, is a pleasant half hour walk through River Lee Country Park.
Rutland Caravan & Camping

Rutland – Rutland Caravan & Camping, Oakham
Rutland may be England’s smallest county, but as its motto ‘Multum in Parvo’ declares, there’s a lot to see – and Rutland Caravan & Camping is an ideal base from which to explore its pretty villages. Situated on the edge of the pretty little village of Greetham, the site comprises two large separate areas, both with spacious hardstanding and grass pitches, and heated toilet blocks. There’s also a large dog walk area and an indoor dog shower. The amenities are well maintained and a small shop sells all the basics you will need during your stay. Greetham itself is only a five minute walk away and boasts a shop, post office and three pubs – all of which offer extensive menus.
